Staff Training & Development

Capacity building so the workforce masters the skills it actually needs, delivered as open courses or tailor-made in-house programmes from executive to support level.

Organisations where performance problems trace to capability rather than structure or pay.

What the work covers

  • Training needs assessment at organisation, department and individual level
  • Curriculum and materials design against an identified skills gap
  • Facilitated delivery in-house, residential or at our premises
  • Supervisory and management development programmes
  • Customer care, front office and sales capability
  • Post-training evaluation and refresher design

What you are left holding

  • Training needs report with prioritised gaps
  • Curriculum, session plans and participant materials you keep
  • Attendance, assessment and certification records
  • Evaluation report with recommendations for the next cycle

The work in detail

Training goes wrong in a predictable way: a topic is chosen because it sounds useful, a facilitator delivers it to a room, everyone enjoys the day, and nothing changes on the job. We treat that as a design fault rather than a participant fault. Every programme starts from an identified gap, drawn from performance data, supervisor input and staff self-assessment. Every objective is written as behaviour someone could observe afterwards.

Delivery is facilitated rather than lectured. Participants work on cases and scenarios taken from your own operating context, practise against the standard the job actually requires, and leave with an action plan agreed with their own supervisor, so the first application happens within weeks rather than never. Programmes run from executive level down to support staff, in-house or as open courses, and we design curricula against a skills gap you have already identified if you prefer to keep the diagnosis in-house.

You keep the materials. Curriculum, session plans, exercises and assessment instruments are handed over, so the programme can be repeated internally for the next intake without buying it again.

Scenarios, for reference

Supervisors promoted on technical skill

A manufacturer had promoted its best technicians into supervisory roles and was losing staff under them. The gap was not technical: it was correcting performance without either avoiding the conversation or escalating it. We built a programme around real disciplinary and feedback scenarios from the plant, and reviewed application with each supervisor’s manager after six weeks.

A front office that lost customers politely

A service business scored well on courtesy and badly on resolution. Training focused on first-contact resolution authority and handover discipline rather than on smiling, and the measure used was repeat contacts rather than reaction sheets.

One programme, four districts

A donor-funded project needed the same content delivered consistently across four districts by different facilitators. We wrote session plans tight enough that delivery did not depend on who was in the room, and used a common assessment so results were comparable.
